Experienced Professionals


CFEF is comprised of a highly professional and dynamic staff with over 50 years of combined research experience. The staff includes a Board Certified Psychiatrist, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Certified Clinical Research Coordinators, Technicians, and other experienced research professionals.

Our staff has participated in numerous clinical trials with most major pharmaceutical companies. These clinical trials include both adult and pediatric studies for indications such as Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Depression, Treatment Resistant Depression, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Phobia, Schizophrenia, Insomnia, and Pain.

CFEF also strives to stay on the leading edge of clinical research by providing our staff with continuing education

and training.

Leon Rosenberg, MD

Psychiatrist

Principal Investigator

 

Dr. Rosenberg graduated Harvard University with Honors in Biology in 1974 and received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York–Upstate Medical Center at Syracuse in 1978.  He has been working in the field of psychiatry since then, beginning with an Internship in Psychiatry at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Hospital and followed by a residency in Adult Psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania from 1979 to 1981.  He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry, and he is Board Certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine.  He is also Board Eligible in Child Psychiatry as a result of completing a two year fellowship in Child Psychiatry at Hahnemann University Hospital in 1983.

 

Dr. Rosenberg has been in private practice psychiatry for over 20 years.  He has been the President and Medical Director of the Center for Emotional Fitness for 15 years.  His dedication and caring manner have earned him the respect of both patients and colleagues.  His treatment philosophy centers on patients’ wellbeing by educating patients to promote their own emotional fitness through an understanding of their condition. Dr. Rosenberg has been conducting clinical trials since 1994.  He is the Principal Investigator in over 100 clinical trials. 

 

Dr. Rosenberg has written the book, The Authoritative Guide to Psychiatric Diagnosis, a must read for patients, physicians, and all individuals involved in conducting psychiatric and CNS research studies.  His expertise is often called upon for doing independent medical evaluations, forensic psychiatric evaluations and court testimony.  Dr. Rosenberg has served on local and national advisory boards for many of the large pharmaceutical companies and is a sought after speaker in the area of adult and child psychiatry.

 

He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, Burlington County Medical Society, New Jersey Psychiatric Society, American Academy of Psychiatry and Law, Camden County Mental Health Board, and The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.  Dr. Rosenberg oversees the care and treatment of all of the clinical trial subjects at the Center for Emotional Fitness and is directly involved with each and every clinical trial subject as well.

 

Frank McManus, PhD
Clinical Psychologist
Sub-Investigator

Dr. McManus is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Widener University prior to receiving his Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from West Chester University, and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Walden University. Prior to joining CFEF, he was a Psychologist/Sub-Investigator with the CNS Research Institute (formerly Comprehensive Clinical Research, CNS) in Clementon, NJ. Dr. McManus brings to CFEF his vast knowledge and experience with numerous clinical trials. He is a board certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a diplomate of the American Board of Psychological Specialties, and  a Fellow of the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. Dr. McManus is also a member of MENSA, and is the Chairman of the Intertel selection committee. He is a member of numerous academic honor societies such as Phi Kappa Phi, Psi Chi, and Alpha Sigma Lambda. He also holds professional memberships in the American Psychological Association, New Jersey Psychological Association, Pennsylvania Psychological Association, American Mental Health Counselors Association, American College of Forensic Examiners, and the Pennsylvania Society of Behavioral Medicine and Biofeedback.

Hayon Kim Choe, CMA, CCRC
Director or Clinical Research

Kim is a dedicated and experienced research professional with over 10 years in the research field.   Kim brings to CFEF her dedicated and caring manner and her experience with over 100 clinical trials including internal medicine trials such as hyperlipidemia, influenza, hormone replacement and skin infections.  Prior to joining CFEF she was a Clinical Research Coordinator for Comprehensive Clinical Research in Berlin, NJ and CNS Research Institute in Clementon, NJ.  Kim received her training and certification as a Medical Assistant from the Omega Institute where she was on the Dean’s List and received numerous awards for her academic achievements.   She also received her CCRC certification from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.  Kim manages all of the clinical trials conducted at CFEF.  She also conducts in-house audits to assure adherence to protocols, GCPs, CFRs, and SOPs and develops systems, procedures and processes to improve both overall staff performance and study conduct.

 

Jennifer Mellon, MST, CRC
Clinical Research Coordinator / Laboratory Coordinator

Jennifer is a dedicated research professional with over four years experience in the research field.  Jennifer brings to CFEF her caring manner and attention to detail.  She has experience with over 25 clinical trials.  She received her training and certification as a Multi-Skilled Technician from the Omega Institute.  She received her research training here at CFEF starting out as Laboratory Coordinator and advancing to Clinical Research Coordinator.  Jennifer will soon be eligible to take the CCRC exam from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

Donna Rose M. Colucci, MLT, CCRC
Director of Regulatory Affairs and Financial Affairs

Donna is a highly experienced medical professional with over 30 years in the medical field culminating with ten years in clinical research. Prior to joining CFEF, Donna was a Clinical Research Coordinator and then Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance for Comprehensive Clinical Research in Berlin, NJ. Her background also includes IV/Nursing Department Supervisor, Medical Office Manager, and Medical Laboratory Technician. She received her degree in Medical Technology from the St. Agnes Medical Center-School of Medical Technology and certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician from the Philadelphia County Medical Society. Donna attended Gloucester County College for Information Systems where she was on the President's List and also received a Certificate in Management Training. Donna brings to CFEF her attention to detail and her experience with over 100 clinical trials. She received her CCRC certification from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Donna handles all of the regulatory and financial documents.  She also develops and updates CFEF's Standard Operating Procedures, reviews and develops systems, procedures and processes to improve both overall staff performance and study conduct, develops CFEF's detailed study specific source workbooks.
